Merseyside Naturalists' Association
Welcome to the Merseyside Naturalists' Association website.

The
MNA arranges field trips to see wildlife in the North West of England
and North Wales. We cater for a wide variety of natural history
interests. We have an extensive programme of meetings by public
transport and private transport and we also run coach trips to
destinations further afield. There are always two pick-up points for our coach trips in Liverpool, and if we are going southwards we also pick up on the Wirral. During the winter months
we have a programme of illustrated lectures. An
annual illustrated newsletter is sent to all members. We are always
pleased to welcome new members and anyone can come along to any of our
meetings to see if they would be interested in joining us.
See reports on our previous trips on the MNA blog.
We are running nine coach trips in 2012 … Fairhaven Lakes and Marton Mere, Shropshire Meres, Brockholes, Hutton Roof, Cors Erddreiniog and Cemlyn Bay, Potteric Carr, Long Mynd, Blacktoft Sands RSPB and Leighton Moss RSPB. See our Programme.
Our local field trips / outdoor meetings (by public transport, car or car share) regularly go to Parkgate, Marshside, Wigan Flashes, Hilbre Island, Hay Bridge, Haweswater, Leasowe, Nercwys Forest, Longton Brickcroft NR, Orrell Warer Park, Pickerings Pasture, Great Orme, Sefton Coast, Neumann's Flash, Woolston Eyes, Carr Mill Dam, Rimrose Valley, Pennington Flash and Mere Sands Wood. See our Programme
Several members are experts in their fields, so no matter what obscure insect, fungus, rare bird or flower is encountered, there's usually an MNA member present who can identify it.
